almost done.

Why Hello!

So we are almost done the room. And actually the hard, most time consuming part, is all done, THE PAINTING! Yay!! Now we just have to hang/iron curtains, clean out closest, bring up the bed from the basement, & sand/prime/paint her headboard (I have all we need, just need to get that project going). I've been working on painting a canvas for her wall. Can I just say it's sooo cute! I can't wait to show it off. I'm impressed with myself sometimes. Ohh...and before I forget we have a BEAUTIFUL quilt coming for her bed, made special by Josh's cousin. Thank you Tish!! You are fabulous, and that is just one of MANY reasons. So to end, here's the progress...

But FIRST: the quilt before quilting...ooo...can't wait to see the finished project!!

and to the right. Don't you just love it. My wonderful hubbie did the chair rail, LOVE!!

New Photos!!

I have decided to change the way I do photos on this blog. I've got the photos a little more cleaned up, with my name & a little picnik photoshopping done. That way if you want to share a photo, not that these are ones you'll want to do that with, you'll have my name there for reference. I love picnik! (www.picnick.com)

These are the beautiful paint colors. Hard to really see, but it's a little glimpse into what is about to happen to this very WHITE room.

Yes, I know! Clean the room. Actually most of what you see here is already gone. YES! Only the dressers & a few other small items will be staying.

Of course what you see here is after we paint, getting a little ahead of myself! I know, I can't wait to get this room done!

My lovely husband! Ha, I know it's his best side, jk!! In all honesty I'm very thankful to him, without him we would not be ready to paint. THANK YOU HUN!

Hoping to get the paint brushes/rollers out to paint soon! YAY!

One year ago.

This is where we were last year at this time. Look at how tiny she was.And now this is where we are now. Another year, another baby, a boy Little C came on May 23rd. Crazy!
We're gonna get going on A's room once July hits. I can't wait!
We have all the paint and trim and lots of ideas rolling in my head

I can't wait to have her in her new bed. I found a nice headboard and bed
rails at a yard sale. Only $15 bucks! Looking to repaint the headboard either
green or ivory. Hmm...oh the choices.

We have paint and chair rail!!

We got paint and chair rail for A's new Big Girl Room this morning at Home Depot. Super excited!! One Enchanted Evening (purple) for the top of the chair rail and Spice Delight (Cream white) for the trim and bottom of the chair rail. Hopefully it looks good & I like it. I just love the names of the colors. =)

Happy.

This made me happy. I saw this on another blog and thought I could do that! Josh picked up a glider for me at the dump for "FREE" last fall and I really wanted to give it a fresh look. We don't have the ottoman, so I was thinking I could do what this fabulous girl did and buy a cheap one and dress is up. We'll see. It may be finished by the time I have a 3rd child, lol! I just wanted to post this, because it made me happy. <3

**Check out one of my fav blogs "Better After" to find this Before & After and many more. Love that blog!!

the nursery

BEFORE

AFTER

Here's some photos of A's nursery. The soon to be next baby's suite. I can't wait to change it up a bit for the new baby. Like if it's a boy, add some masculinity to it. But I really enjoyed making it what it is today. Notice the BEFORE. I am so a non-character type decorator. I like simple characters like animals, just not those popular ones with names, like Dora or Pooh.

Enjoy.

my least fav part.

Picking paint colors is my least favorite part of the process of painting. This is A's new room and I want it to be just perfect. I just don't want to get it wrong. I think I'm going to let these colors sit here for awhile so I can digest it and think about what shade I want. I definitely want it to be light and not too pinkish. I feel the bottom color is too pink, or looks pink in some lighting. The top color is my fav so far. We'll see what it ends up being...

ideas & inspiration

After doing some research online I came across these. Some I hope to incorporate in A's new "Big Girl" room. I love diy blogs, and some came from them. The quilt I may get at pottery barn or if I find another that is similar I will grab it fast since it's prob going to be cheaper elsewhere. I love how all these are cute in a little girl's room, but nice enough for her as she grows older and wants more mature stuff. Here's to hoping for a fun room makeover...enjoy!

fun stuff

These are a few of the projects I have done. I'd really like to do a start to finish blog entry sometime. So next time I get my project hands on I'm gonna have to remember my camera and get some good "how I did it" photos. Until then, here's some of my favorite projects completed.
The tutu I made for A's first bday.
The photo was done by AB Photography. Check her out on facebook.
I love making bows. I'm getting the hang of it, although I still know I have a lot to learn.
These are the invites I made for A's first bday. I would show more of them, but they have a lot of personal info on them. The poem I used was: "One little candle. One little cake. One First Birthday to Celebrate!" Love it!! I can't wait to start planning her second birthday. I think my kids are in for some fun future bdays!
Here's a tutu I made for her butterfly halloween costume. So easy to make and yet so adorable!!
This is a painting I did inspired by the bedding in A's little room, or really it will be the nursery for the next baby since we are due in June, yay!

my first post.

I'm hoping to display some of the fun projects I've gotten to finish in this blog. Stay tuned to the fun I'm going to have making our office into a "big girl's" room. Here's a before photo:

It's a blank slate. I love it! I'm hoping to paint the walls I nice soft purple. And the office is going down under in our finished basement. Our computer is now in the family room. The nice light wood dresser will go in the guest room down under as well. The two white dressers will stay. They were my mom's when she was a little girl and I used them as well. I love handing them down to my daughter. I hope to repaint them and add new hardware. But that will come later. There's a nice mirror that goes with the set as well. Oh the fun...
